Exploring Berlin – visiting The Museum THE KENNEDYS

Site inspection at the exhibition »The Spirit of a Dress« on the occasion of the Berlin Fashion Week

The spirit of a Dress The Museum THE KENNEDYS was pleased to present the opening of a special exhibition »The Spirit of a Dress« from January 16 – February 17, 2013.

”Focusing on Jackie Kennedy and her style, the exhibition takes the visitor back to the eventful year 1960. John F. Kennedy is elected as 35th President of the United States. Besides famous French fashion labels, Jackie trusted in Marimekko, a textile and clothing design house renowned for its bold colors, unconvential patterns and clean, architectonic cuts. The exhibition reflects the eloquent appearance of Jackie Kennedy in the U.S. Presidential Election in 1960 and shows how Marimekko not only emphasizes her appearance and personality but also reflects the spirit of the time.”
